Judge Bramlage is a disgrace to the Boone County Courthouse.

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this self proclaimed "I want to make a difference" judge.

I have been into court twice so far about my child support. Both times, I had to put up with freakin Judge Dread!!

She said that she is out to make a difference, the only difference she makes than any other judge, is that she doesn't look at the evidence before making a decision.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I am aware, the judge needs to make her decisions on the case according to the facts and law, and even if the judge doesn't agree with the law, she should still enforce it. That is what our tax dollars are paying for.

I tell you what really grinds my gears. The first time I went to court, I went to the child support office to tell them that I am not working. I am not allowed to be employed, since at the moment, I don't have a Greencard, and immigration has sent me a letter saying I am not allowed to be employed by anyone, but that's another blog.

So I go to the child support office, and they send me and my ex-wife a court date. We get up there, and unfortunately, the Intolerable Dave Keonig picked up our case. So he is looking over it, and asks my ex why she doesn't work. She gives him the whole, "Oh I am so sick, cough-cough". So he asks my why I am not paying, and I explain to him the deal with immigration, and in his infinite wisdom says, "Why don't you get a job under the table, like the rest of the illegals, you're going to be sent back home anyway". I explain to him that my whole plan is not to be sent back home, and to work under the table is illegal, and he should'nt be advising me to do so.

So I don't just sit there and take it, I will get my point across to the Judge. So off to the courtoom we go.

I stand there, she asks her questions, and I explain the situation, I tell her that I have the letter from immigration telling me I am not allowed to work, I told her she can see it if she wants to. She just looks at me with that DUH!! look on her face. She asks both of us questions, asks my ex again why she is not working, apparently, this time, she said "I just got out of the hospital last night, I am sick"

(Ummmm what??? Just because you were in hospital, doesn't justify why you can't work.. I mean if everyone that had been in the hospital turned around and said, I can't work, then we all would be in some serious trouble!!)

So the judge just takes it for granted, I tell the judge that the reason she did not want to work is because she would then have to pay rent. I know it was pointless, the judge don't care. I also let her know that Dave Koenig told me that I shoult be working under the table, but I do not do anything illegal, again, she doesn't care about that either, she just wanted us out of her court room asap.

So in the end, the Judge basically says, sorry about your luck, your child support is not changing, and you are required to now pay $500 by the end of the month, or you are going to jail. I ask how I am supposed to pay $500, when I can't afford $300, I ask if she is telling me that I should be working under the table, she of course says "Oh I can't advise you on that'. Which roughly translates to, Yes, you need to work under the table illegaly, but I can't tell you that so read between the lines.

So I leave defeated, and also leave with another $500 on top of what I need to pay already. Wow, that seems fair doesn't it.

I call and talk to someone at the Child Support office called Dennis, and he told me that if I had a job, and I was paying, then next time I ask for a reduction, the Judge would lower it, then he told me the same thing David Koenig told me, however he went one step further. He told me to go down to Covington, get a fake SSN, and work that way. (We use our tax dollars to pay these people to tell us to do things illegal?? Wow.)

So I get sent money from my mom and dad in England, pay the $500, and I eventually find a job working online, where I am not employed, but I am an independent contractor.

6 months later, I go back to the child support office, and ask again to have it reviewed. I feel confident, since I have been paying 100% of my pay from my online job, hopefully it will be easier this time round.

I go to a lawyer, a Jennifer R Dusing, and get a free consultation, she works out what child support should be, and says that me and my ex wife need to be imputed at minimum wage. But she wants $600 to represent me. If I had that, I would send it to immigration and sort out my Greencard issue. But, she did give me some advice, she said if you are in court, and you don't like the judges decision you can always ask for a continuance, and she has to give it to you.

So court day comes around, I give up on trying to find a lawyer, because they all want $500 and up to represent me, which is ludicrous. But I am confident from the information that I know, and that I have been paying 100% of my wages to child support.

I go to court, the caseworker that picks up my case is not Dave Keonig this time, so at this point I'm psyched! She goes through my case, and my ex-wife is making an ass out of herself, crying and getting angry (which was great), I show the caseworker the sheet that Jennifer Dusing gave me, and this caseworker she said that it was correct.

We should be both at minimum wage, because she doesn't want to work, and I am not allowed to be employed. With the amount that I am making, per month which is between $200 and $250, I am below minimum wage anyway, but still giving everything to Child Support.

Somehow, the caseworker redoes the numbers, and writes down that I can pay $1833 per month, which was $100 less than the original child support worksheet when I first got my divorce. I tell her that how is it at that amount, since when I got my divorce I was making close to $30,000 a year, and now last year I only made $7500. I mean Im not mathmatician but I know that there is way over a 15% decrease in my wages, it's more like a 95% decrease. She tells me that she needs to be fair, and put it down that way. I think to myself, oh well the Judge will see the difference.

Oh Boy!! Here we go, familiar courtroom, familiar feeling, and, the judge is not ready. Nice, so we sit there and wait, she finally decides to make an appearance, apparently we have to rise... why is that? She is nothing special, she puts her pants the same way as everyone else, she wipes her own ass, as far as I am aware.

So we get all of those pleaseantries out of the way, and she starts asking questions again, I tell her that I have been paying, and what I am making per month, and what I have made this year, which is close to $800. I tell her that I have a sheet of exactly how muchI have made, did she bother to look at it? Hell no! The caseworker asked me if I wanted to give the child support sheet that Jennifer Dusing gave to me for the judge to see. I say yes, she takes it up there, did the judge look at it? Hell no! She took it, and put it down, as the caseworker was walking back, she said, "It looks like the Judge has already worked out her own worksheet"....

WHAT?????? She didn't look at anything? Again? No evidence? Just made a decision based on what??

So I sit there, and think, ok well she is probably going to side with me.

Nope, wrong again. She said it was denied because I have the ability to make $1933 without being employed!!! I asked for a continuance, and with a snarky, smarmy look on her face, she said "No not now, I just made my decision." I'm thinking to myself how can I ask for a continuance before I know what you are going to say? But instead I said, "How am I supposed to make this per month, why can't we both be imputed at minimum wage?" She replies with, "You have the ability to make more...goodbye"

What?? Ok, I thought the Judge is supposed to make a decision based on facts, not personal preference, just because she believes that I can make $1933 per month, doesn't mean I can. I would love to see the judge lose her job, and someone tell her that she can make $2000 a month without being employed.

The whole Boone County Court is a complete joke with this judge. She should be removed from the bench. The court system is supposed to be there to be fair. It is supposed to be there to support the people, to help people, not to tar everybody with the same brush.
